"In this third book in the Lunar Chronicles, Cinder and Captain Thorne are fugitives on the run, now with Scarlet and Wolf in tow. Together, they’re plotting to overthrow Queen Levana and her army.
Their best hope lies with Cress, a girl imprisoned on a satellite since childhood who's only ever had her netscreens as company. All that screen time has made Cress an excellent hacker. Unfortunately, she’s just received orders from Levana to track down Cinder and her handsome accomplice. When a daring rescue of Cress goes awry, the group is separated. Cress finally has her freedom, but it comes at a high price. Meanwhile, Queen Levana will let nothing prevent her marriage to Emperor Kai. Cress, Scarlet, and Cinder may not have signed up to save the world, but they may be the only hope the world has."

REVIEW TIME

Here was my initial review on goodreads:

Characters:

Cress is such a tech savvy, naive, cute and knowledgable girl, wrapped into one! Without her, Cinder wouldn't have succeeded this far! Definitely a fave of mine and her relationship with Thorne is unusual to say the least. They aren't quite a couple but definitely a love interest and Thorne feels as if he doesn't want to take advantage of Cress as he is the only man she has ever seen really.

As for Kai, we see him more as a leader in a political battle. I feel so sorry for Kai during this tough time as he tries to please Levana whilst still having feelings for Cinder.

We don't really hear much from Scarlet at all during this book so I still find it hard to connect with her. As for Wolf, we get to know him more as an individual and not a pack member. I feel like Wolf is a gentle giant, even though he is genetically enhanced.

Plot:

So much happens in this book it's hard to even put it into words! There are so many different settings!
We start off in space with Cress being introduced in her lonely satellite. Cinder, Thorne, Scarlet, Wolf and Iko are all aboard the Rampion after the Queen's wolf soldiers attack Earth.
So we start off in space, end up in the Sahara desert and an African village called Farafrah, then escape into space again, stay there for a while and then into the Eastern Commonwealth and back into space! Very varied and so much happens that it's more like 2 or 3 books merged into one.

Again, this is hard to explain without spoiling you but the group gets split up and this book ends on a cliffhanger. You literally need Winter ready and on hand when you finish Cress. Like I said above, we don't hear much from Scarlet but when we do, unfortunately she isn't in a good situation! Eeeek!

Honestly, I highly recommend this series to ANYONE! There is diversity, fantasy, sci-fi, romance and a hell of a lot of action. GO NOW, READ IT!

Overall feelings:

My overall feelings after reading this book are...
"AHHH! I NEED WINTER NOW!"
