Dewey's 24-hour readathon!

HOUR TWENTY FOUR - It's the Final Countdown!

Which hour was most daunting for you?
The final hours because I was playing catch up!

Could you list a few high-interest books that you think could keep a Reader engaged for next year?

Juvie by Steve Watkins for definite, I read that on a 10 hour flight and it kept me highly engaged for the entire flight!
Also Papertowns by John Green is a fast paced and attention seeking read.

Do you have any suggestions for how to improve the Read-a-thon next year?
None that I can think of, maybe just simpler Twitter challenges so you don't take up a lot of time doing challenges and can tweet your entry quickly and then keep reading!

What do you think worked really well in this year’s Read-a-thon?

The new cheerleading system. I felt that the teams really worked out and I could cheer for people easily!

How many books did you read?

1 and a few chapters.

What were the names of the books you read?

Paper Planes Back Home by Tara Frejas
Petty Little Lives by Alice Reeds

Which book did you enjoy most?
I didn't get far enough into Petty Little Lives to make a judgement on it, so the answer is Paper Planes Back Home because it is truly heartwarming.

Which did you enjoy least?

I suppose I've answered this one above...

If you were a Cheerleader, do you have any advice for next year’s Cheerleaders?

Check Twitter at least every hour whilst you're awake!

How likely are you to participate in the Read-a-thon again? What role would you be likely to take next time?

I would definitely participate again, I'm so sad it's over :( I would be a reader and cheerleader again next time but definitely plan the day better and hope that no one made plans!

HOUR TWENTY ONE
I've literally read a chapter and done no blogging in the past hours! It isn't going well to say the least! It is currently 9:55AM though so I have a few hours of the morning to redeem myself.

HOUR NINE!
I have literally not read anymore since I last updated you all. I've been so lazy and tired today!
Going to read, read, read now as much as possible.

HOUR THREE - Don't forget!
I've basically been reading in this hour so there's no challenge to show you! I've been visiting people today so i've read like 3 chapters so far...WHOOPS!

HOUR TWO - Get Settled!
This hour's challenge is to pick a cover escape. Basically, choose a book cover you would like to escape into and mine is definitely this one. The Color of Our Sky by Amita Trasi is a beautiful heart-wrenching book and this cover is just plain beautiful. I want to escape to somewhere where you can see the stars this clearly because it is truly B-E-A-UTIFULLLL!

HOUR ONE - It's that time again!

1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today?
Liverpool in the UK!

2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to?

The Sin Eater's Daughter by Melinda Salisbury

3) Which snack are you most looking forward to?

Galaxy chocolate, cheese and onion crisps and some Baileys...nom!

4) Tell us a little something about yourself!

My blog name, The Book Moo, comes from most of my family calling me Mellymoo or Moo Moo. My actual name is Melanie...

5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to?

I participated in the last readathon and didn't get a lot of reading done because I was too busy checking in each hour. So this time i'm keeping a journal so that I can type up my notes when the readathon has finished and just taking it easy!

TBR

WOOOOOO! It's finally here and I am wayyyy too excited! Are you excited? Because seriously I effing LOVE this readathon. I'm revealing my overly ambitious TBR and like always, I line up about 6 or 7 books and read like 1 or 2 so these are the select few I have chosen...

First up, I'll be finishing off Paper Planes Back Home by Tara Frejas, which I'll be reviewing as part of a blog tour ;) Look for that on the 29th of October.

Next will be Petty Little Lives by the lovely Alice Reeds, which I've been asked to review since I really enjoy Alice's writing and first book Into the Unknown. I'm a little late with the review too but shhh, reading and appreciation takes time...

Also, I'm going to read for #YAShot during the 24 hours, although I'm not attending the event, I am joining in the month-long readathon. This involves reviewing certain books on my blog so look out for reviews of these books:

Counting stars by Keris Staunton, The Sin Eater's Daughter by Melinda Salisbury, Fearsome Dreamer by Laure Eve and The Art of Being Normal by Lisa Williamson.

And tagged on the end of this TBR for #YAShot is The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon. This is a MAMMOTH. Therefore I tagged it on the end. Kind of like an honourable mention...
